Survey on topics of tourism business forum completed!

From 28 September until 18 October, a survey of tourism professionals took place on the Balttour business forum website concerning potential topics of the forum. In total, 76 answers were received. The results have been collected and the topics of the forum have been determined!

Interesting and topical themes were named by various tourism industry professionals – employees of city councils and other municipalities, tourist information centres, travel agencies and operators, recreation and sightseeing locations, hotels, guest houses, camp sites, museums and other providers of tourism services.

The results of the survey show that respondents mostly voted for the following topics:
- Cooperation of tour operators, intermediaries and providers of tourism services/products – reality and wishes, trends and Latvian prospects;
- An innovative trend: sharing economy – situation and prospects in the tourism sector;
- Influence of various countries and global events on Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian tourism companies – particular risks, possibilities and forecasts.

To ensure that the forum provides maximum value to each participant and the sector in general, the programme of the Balttour 2017 forum will include the first two of these topics, which also have a substantial impact on the third topic – it is precisely better cooperation between the players of the sector and better use of the opportunities offered by innovations that will allow the sector to react more successfully to global developments and reduce potential risks!

The diagram summarises the answers of respondents whose companies provide tourism services:

  • “outbound” – services are provided in outbound tourism and international tourism;
  • “internal” – services are provided in local, inbound and domestic tourism;
  • “total” – aggregated opinion of all respondents.
