SENSORIUM – Interactive Dark Experience

For the first time at Balttour: Sensorium – the only interactive dark experience in Northern Europe, offering every visitor a unique opportunity to embark on an unforgettable journey through darkness and discover an entirely new dimension of the senses.

Sensorium is recognized as one of the highest-rated specialized museums in Latvia. In 2023, it became a laureate of the Latvian Civic Alliance and the U.S. Embassy awards for innovative social responsibility and philanthropy.

Upon entering Sensorium, visitors step into a special environment where light disappears and vision recedes. In this experience, every touch, sound, and scent becomes more intense.

Visitors can explore four exhibition rooms:

The most significant novelty at Sensorium is the Showdown – a dynamic game where hearing and reaction speed are key. Often described as “table tennis in the dark,” players navigate using only sound, competing in speed and agility with a specially designed ball that emits sound effects. This game is already popular among visually impaired athletes, but it is available to the wider public in Europe for the first time – exclusively at Sensorium in Riga.
