Discover Finland’s National Parks with Outdoor Express

Outdoor Express buses expand their service for summer 2026, offering easy access to three national parks in the Jyväskylä Region: Pyhä-Häkki, Leivonmäki, and Southern Konnevesi. The buses will operate from July 4 to September 27 on Saturdays and Sundays, allowing day visitors to enjoy 4–5 hours in nature, with the option to stay overnight and take advantage of local tourism services.

Outdoor Express routes and travel packages will be presented at Balttour 2026, giving visitors a chance to explore the services, receive practical information about tickets, and plan their trips. The packages combine transportation with guided activities at the parks.

“Outdoor Express buses were very popular last summer. For 2026, the season has been extended, and minor improvements have been made based on visitor feedback,” says Project Coordinator Anni Peltonen from Visit Jyväskylä Region.

Departures are from Jyväskylä Travel Center, with additional stops along the route. For Southern Konnevesi National Park, there will be two routes: one via Spa Hotel Peurunka in Laukaa to Häyrylänranta, and another via Revontuli Resort in Hankasalmi to the Kalaja area. The Pyhä-Häkki route stops at Saarijärvi town center. In Leivonmäki Park, buses also provide internal transportation throughout the day.

Outdoor Express services are part of the Sustainable International Accessibility for Tourism in Central Finland (KeKaSa) project, implemented by Visit Jyväskylä Region. The project is co-funded by the European Union and the Regional Council of Central Finland, in cooperation with local municipalities, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, and the Central Finland Chamber of Commerce.
